Colombia is a tropical country of incredible
diversity, it’s varied in geography, in flora and fauna, in celebrations and
ethnic, it’s also famous for its coffee.
The national anthem was composed in 1887, with lyrics
by Rafael Nuñez and music from the Italian composer Orestes. Our shield, designed by Francisco de Paula Santander,
has a condor holding a green laurel with the beak entwined with a gold ribbon
with the motto “Libertad y Orden”.
