BOGOTÁ

Bogotá was founded the 6th of August, by the Spanish conqueror, Gonzalo Jimenez De Quesada. The new city became the vice-regal capital of New Granada. In 1717, it was colonized by Simon Bolivar and in 1819 it turn into the capital of the independent nation of Great Colombia.
The city grew slowly because Bogotá's people wished to preserve their old culture.
